Filby Lands & Conservation Trust

A process of forming a Trust has started. It will be known as Filby Lands & Conservation Trust. It is to purchase an initial plot of land in the Village, size approximately half an acre, behind the Village Church, to be planted up as a Community Woodland.

At a meeting on the evening of 28th January 2020, a Committee to run the Trust was formed. A constitution has been drafted and solicitors appointed. A bank account is being established. This Website and a Facebook page are being constructed. Grant income is being investigated.

A launch event  planned for 24th March 2020 was cancelled as a result of the Covid -19 emergency. This will be rescheduled when normality returns. A press anouncement of the formation of the Trust will be made shortly.

A bank account has been set up and a JustGiving page published, for donations via the internet. Donations may be made to...

                                          Bank                                       - Santander Business Account

                                          Sort Code                               - 09-01-29

                                          Account Number                    - 50535435

...or on the internet, through Just Giving, at...

Cash donations may be left at Filby Post Office.

We have been successful in getting grant aid to buy the land (Essex & Suffolk Water Branch Out funding). We have obtained the gift of some woodland trees (Woodland Trust) and, now, need to raise funds for Hedgerow trees, Wildflower Meadow planting and creating a Wildlife Pond. We are off to a great start but we can’t do this without your help. Please donate via our Just Giving page, the Donations page of this website or just pop cash into Filby Village Post Office and Store.

The Committee would welcome the involvement of the whole community. If you would like to assist in any way, either in terms of financial support, expertise, or practical work, then please contact Ken Saul on 01493 369021 or email
